A father of a 4.5 year old daughter, I am the first to think that there are better solutions than spanking your child’s backside. However, are we at a point in the US that we actually need to impose a law that says you are going to go to jail if you spank your child. I am not talking about child abuse. Child abuse can not be accepted anywhere, yet it is around the world. That is not what we are talking about here.

I would normally ask who the parents are, you or the government. BUT… There are way too many people in the world that should NOT be parents. Then there are tons that are the best example of what a parent should be. But writing a bill is needed? Is under 3 yr spanking running rampant in Silicon Valley? Even better, Ms. Sally J. Lieber has even said that we (assuming she means the California/US/society), “We’re very addicted to violence.” That is a pretty broad statement.

You can read The New York Times article to understand Ms. Lieber plans to release next week.

This is a lady that is committed (or should be) to her purpose? Need look no further than this video from April 2006 when she decided to go homeless for several days in Silicon Valley. All in an attempt to understand the problems the homeless face and how the legislation can help them. All valiant, but begging for money for a bagel, how does that help the homeless?

How about the nice gear? I am sure every homeless in The Valley have all that gear with them. I think she forgot the shopping cart? I understand you must be a method actor/assembly woman, but I really wonder what she learned? Did she feel for them more now?

Once again, this is a person that might on the surface have those nirvana ideas. When we all step back into reality, it is these types of efforts and bills that are twisted. Instead of helping the babies to 3yr old kids from being beaten to death (literally folks), it will put a soccer mom in jail for swatting her 3 year old in the supermarket because the child was going to pickup a bottle of Drano!

As we know, every good deed does not go unpunished in our society!

Watch out Californians, the next door crack mom beating her 10 kids wont be stopped, but the upright parents sure will be. Watch out Arnold, you got some crazy people out there. :)

UPDATE:
Here is a site set up back in 2001 to recall Sally.
