It is a sad day that any human passes away. It is a very sad day for the tech industry that has lost a true visionary. Never much of a Fruit fan, but regardless if you loved Apple or despised, Steve (with Woz help) really is what made Apple, Apple. Personally, this will be the day either Apple will survive to live another day or will be the final call. Steve was Apple and without him, how will they have the vision to still be Apple and not just another tech company. If the 1st keynote without Steve at the helm was any indication, things don’t look so good. I will end, Apple you better get it right going forward, or Steve’s passing will be even one of many sad points from here on out! Tags: Apple, End, Passing, Steve Jobs

Nintendo 3DS – Thank You NintendoPosted by Don Hass in dad patrol, gaming, hardware, nintendoSo Nintendo got smart of really bad earnings report to drop the price of their 3DS handheld. (Not really associated, but still makes for a good starting line).
Anyhow, my daughter had finally saved up enough money to buy one for herself at the new 169.99 price point. Well needless to say she is thrilled! Good job Nintendo. Plus the free Pokedex 3D made you even look better in her eyes!
So I try and go link up her 3DS eShop to her Club Nintendo account. We follow the on screen instructions and everything and we get an error code 005-6403. Hmmm.. well don’t we all love error codes that don’t tell you what they mean. So off to Googling a go… hmmm nothing pops up on the code. Find 005-6401, but no …3. Well 45 minutes later I have tried all CAPS for the user name like some form post say. Heck even in the UK you are suppose to use the Email address of the account apparently. I start thinking it is because we have a family account where she is a child listed under my account. Well come to find out I really was not that far off! Thankfully (for my own sanity) I finally found a post that had a link to this on Nintendo’s site! Error Code Lookup (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/lookup.jsp) Well I type in the code and the magic appears…. “It appears you are attempting to link a Nintendo eShop Account to a Club Nintendo account for a child uder the age of 13.” Well thank you very much. First don’t you think that a huge demographic for 3DS and Nintendo in general is under 13!!!! Ok, well now I at least knew what it meant. So there is always a solution from here. Just could no believe that even typing in the error code into Nintendo general search field did not take you to the error code lookup page. Hmmmm Get on that web designers. Needless to say, get an error code on your handheld, go to the site above and save yourself some pain and frustration. Long live cute 3D Puppies and Kittens! Tags: 3DS, Error Code, Games, Nintendo, supportWell about time since we were getting close to one month. Success in downloading PS3 firmware update last night and was able to change my password (mandatory) and got back on PSN. At least I can watch Netflix on PS3 again. Boy talk about flawed design. I would be ticked if I was Netflix that Sony requires you to auth against the PSN before you can connect to Netflix. I know I will be less likely to buy anything off PSN for now. Just like MS and their cr@ppy hardware, it is now Sony and their crappy network. It was always slow and cumbersome, but free right!? But not at the cost of nearly a month and all my data being hacked. Thanks Sony, new I gave up on your audio hardware years ago for a reason! I am sure the other 77 million love you too!
