So if my 360 killing itself over MS update back in August, now it seems Sony’s PS3 is having similar issues (knock on plastic mine isn’t yet since it survived the 3.0 update).

Ars has a good write up on it and I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to pursue the matter.

Not to mention the actual class action lawsuit (PDF) now.

This really does seem like a trend and both companies (Sony and MS) both are touting the same fix.  Send in your console + XXX money and we will “fix” it for you.  Fix what your software broke it, so why am I giving you a dime?!  Sadly enough, MS is charging less right now ($100 dead 360) vs Sony PS3 ($150 bricked PS3).

My post back in August (XBOX 360 Aug 11 System Update Update) ran through what worked for many a solution to MS killer system update.  That was the breaking point for me on giving MS any more pennies period.  Their customer support was horrible and not to mention wanting $ for something they broke.

I can see where the PS3 owners are completely coming from.  I reported MS to BBB about their service breaking my hardware, what did I get?!  Nothing!  Zip, zilch, squat.

Exact quote from final status from BBB:

Complaint status: Inform Business Of Information Only Complaint

Nice huh.  This will be one to watch going forward for sure.  Since if anything comes from the Sony, I could see MS in for the exact same thing if Sony ends up paying anything to PS3 owners.

The Guild and Felicia Day have done it again!

They just released their next music video.  Felicia sounds great, not to mention that this is what all The Guild fans have been waiting for!

Season 3 starts August 25 on XBOX Live (right now the only reason I can see I want an 360 right now!).  How is this for a early gift to get you ready for the new fall season!

Support them by buying the MP3, the entire crew of The Guild deserve it.

MUSIC AND LYRICS BY FELICIA DAY AND JED WHEDON

LYRICS:
Hang with me in my MMO
So many places we can go
You’ll never see my actual face
Our love, our love will be in a virtual space

I’m craving to emote with you
So many animations I can do
Be anything you want me to be
Come on, come on, share a potion with me

CHORUS:
Do you wanna date my Avatar
She’s a star
And she’s hotter than reality by far
Wanna date my Avatar?

You can type commands
I’ve got slots for what I hold in my hands
Don’t care what’s in your character bank
How ‘bout, How ‘bout a little tank and spank

Grab your mouse and stroke the keys
In cyberspace there’s no disease
Pick a time, send a tell to me
Just pay, just pay a small subscription fee

CHORUS

Single white human,
Looking for group
My stats so high
Don’t be out of the loop

Got an uber-leet staff
That you can equip
Close your mouths ladies
This is pure nerd-nip

I’m a pixel-based fantasy
A man who is stoic
I hack and slash
Who the heck’s more heroic?

Check me out:
Cloth armor
Fits me like a glove
Just twitta a time
And I’m ready for love

Hang with me in my MMO
So many places we can go
I’m better than a real world quest
You’ll touch, my plus 5 to dexterity vest

What role do you wanna play
I’m just a click away night or day
And if you think I’m not the one
Log off, Log off and we’ll be done

Got to love geeks!

As if it was not enough that DM Sounds of the Universe is coming out this month, but PSB is releasing Yes! in the states too… UK has had it since end of March.   Sweet from what I have heard of the promo tracks.  Love Etc is just a great single that reminds you why PSB has been doing this for 25 years and deserved the BRIT award they just got back in Feb.

Another album for the month of April.  Good thing BDay is coming to cover the new acquisitions!

If that was not enough, you should check out the Medley from the 2009 Brit Awards, just a great compilation and mixing of them together. This is why they are PSB (just like DM is DM!).

Suburbia, Love Etc, Left To My Own Devices sliding into Always On My Mind, Go West, What Have I Done To Deserve This, Domino Dancing/I’m With Stupid, Being Boring, It’s A Sin, All Over The World, West End Girls

Note sure if I liked Lady GaGa’s part in here… she sounded a little too much next to Neil’s soothing pop!

The Brits Medley demo track sounds much better than this YouTube live version since its just Neil and Chris.  The outfits are true PBS!  Nice to see, good show.

Now that was a race on Sunday!

Great job by the Brawn GP’s team. Nicely done by Virgin just signing on, then winning a 1,2 spot for the first race of 2009. Now that is what you call a great “buy” by Sir Richard. Boy this team is quick. Man if Brawn has really built a pair of cars that can run like this the whole season and only get better, last years top three better watch out!  I believe the image says what everyone got to see all night long thanks to Jenson Button.

Man I was really cheering for Robert Kubica only to fight with Sebastian Vettel a little too much right at the end. That was just sad. They did not need to push it quite that hard! Robert never lets up and that was his demise on Sunday.

Brawn GP Backside

Awesome way to start the season. Can’t wait for next weekends race now!

Wrong

Wrong

It can’t be wrong.. but the single Wrong from DP next month is awesome.  I heard a promo of it last night and it is true DP in all its glory.

Can you believe it 30 years and still putting out awesome electronic sounds!  They really are the premiere band of everything different!  12th full length album and like 10 million mixes of 75% of their songs.

This time around I think I found what I want for my birthday!  Sounds of the Universe Deluxe Box Set

I love the lyrics of Wrong and Dave sounds as good if not better than he has in the last 20 years!

(Check out the official video and their live version in Berlin at the bottom)

I was born with the wrong sign
In the wrong house
With the wrong ascendancy
I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
I used the wrong method with the wrong technique

Wrong

Wrong

There’s something wrong with me chemically
Something wrong with me inherently
The wrong mix in the wrong genes
I reached the wrong ends by the wrong means
It was the wrong plan
In the wrong hands
With the wrong theory for the wrong man
The wrong lies, on the wrong vibes
The wrong questions with the wrong replies

Wrong

Wrong

I was marching to the wrong drum
With the wrong scum
Pissing out the wrong energy
Using all the wrong lines
And the wrong signs
With the wrong intensity
I was on the wrong page of the wrong book
With the wrong rendition of the wrong hook
Made the wrong move, every wrong night
With the wrong tune played till it sounded right yeah

Wrong

Wrong

Too long

Wrong

I was born with the wrong sign
In the wrong house
With the wrong ascendancy
I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
I used the wrong method with the wrong technique

Wrong

I am!

The world will look up and shout “Save us!”… And I’ll whisper “No.”
Rorschach

I shall go and tell the indestructible man that someone plans to murder him.
Rorschach

We’re all puppets, Laurie. I’m just a puppet who can see the strings.
Doctor Manhattan

UPDATE:

It was pretty great!  SPOILERS ALERT!  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

  • Alan Moore might not be a fan of the movie (like any of his fine work converted to movies — V?).
  • Die Hard Watchmen fans might feel a little short changed on some of the stuff they left out.
  • Noobs that don’t even know what the Graphic Novel is or what a “watchman” is might / might not get confused at all the flashback, jump ahead, etc.
  • But if you are somewhere in between all that, I think you will love giving up three hours of your life.

Even though Chapter 12 is pretty bloodless, heck the smartest mans hand barely bleeds when a certain bullet is caught….  It really got changed for what sounds like pansies in Hollywood and personally was sad that they made the Doctor out to be the villain instead of Mr Squid and the “alien invasion”.  Plus it was not just NY anymore since we could not handle seeing squid parts all over lower Manhattan since 9/11 the WB believes. :(

There are some very nice graphic fights and lots nicely done blood splatting / gibs work throughout (make sure to lookup).  Lots of nudity (on both genders part — wasn’t sure if this movie came out of Hollywood with all the blue male anatomy shown.. heck there were was a full blue man “crew” on stage half way through… I mean Dr Manhattan and his little friend X 3).

The details in the movie were incredible, they really did an awesome job.  This is one of those movies you could watch like five times and notice some new small details each time.

Mars scenes are pretty awesome.. albeit Laurie seems to lose her teleportation sickness half way through.

Personally, best character was Rorschach.  He stole the show for me.  Jackie Earle Haley did Rorschach justice and then some.

The one thing that I really missed (besides the ending being kind of whacked for a reader of the original novel) was the whole news stand pieces and the “soul” of the story as seen through the Tales of the Black Freighter comic.  No floating corpses keeping the raft a float.

Archie is awesome… Warner Brothers will be making a ride out of that somewhere!

Am already want to so the Director cut that is going to be re-released in June or July I hear when they release on DVD / Blu-Ray (better, this is a movie to see all the details).  IMAX viewing would of even made it MORE than it already was larger than life.

One thing I was not quite prepared for was the very clear and graphic depiction of JFK being assassinated in the motorcade by The Comic.  There was quite a splatter all over the back of the black presidential limousine.

On a last note was the music.  I had heard the soundtrack (not instrumental) and wasn’t sure how it was all going to fit in and at every turn the music selected for the scene just seemed to make sense.  It was like a well worn jacket that just felt right.

Clocking in at 3 hours (2:43 to be exact, but add your cr@p before the movie and what not) I felt it moved along, but I found myself just waiting for the next scene since I knew what was more or less coming.  I think some others in the midnight showing with me felt the same (damn geeks) while other couples seem to be more worried about getting out of dodge and doing something else, that late at night!  I have sat through an hour and half movies that felt 20 times longer than Watchmen.

Well enough for today.  I see this being worth another viewing and will be one for my collection when Directors Blu-Ray version is released! Zack just better do it justice with those extra minutes (20+ minutes or something)!

“Who’s watching the watchmen”… you should be!
