Can we say that was quite a wet race. Too bad it had before half.. but Brawn GP again. Way to go Jenson again.Jenson from Brawn GP in the rain

Boy that was some rain… Nothing like a bunch of wet rats sitting in multi-million dollar cars soaking up the rain!

I wonder if Brawn will pull China next? They are a team to be watched for sure… Ferrari? McLaren-Mercedes? Heck Brawn GP is using Mercedes engine too? Although Lewis did make good strides up the pack.

Last but not least, my fave to start this year and I will have to stick by has been passed by his partner Nick! The BMW Sauber let the fire out early there for sure! Robert (Kubica) did not have a good Sunday when it all went up in flames.

Has anyone noticed that Toyota went from no where last year to nearly dropping jaws like Brawn GP… if Brawn was not in the game would this be a Toyota leading the pack. Dang.. that was not expected. Did they finally get their act together after dumping gazillion dollars into the effort for years? Nice show and should keep things lively for sure.

Tires will play more and more into this year as well. Nice choice there by the FIA to force the separation in tyres types allowed to be used.

Now that was a race on Sunday!

Great job by the Brawn GP’s team. Nicely done by Virgin just signing on, then winning a 1,2 spot for the first race of 2009. Now that is what you call a great “buy” by Sir Richard. Boy this team is quick. Man if Brawn has really built a pair of cars that can run like this the whole season and only get better, last years top three better watch out!  I believe the image says what everyone got to see all night long thanks to Jenson Button.

Man I was really cheering for Robert Kubica only to fight with Sebastian Vettel a little too much right at the end. That was just sad. They did not need to push it quite that hard! Robert never lets up and that was his demise on Sunday.

Awesome way to start the season. Can’t wait for next weekends race now!

Only 22 more days until the 2009 Formula 1 season begins in Melbourne Australia.

I am very optimistic that BMW Sauber team and Robert Kubica will put the pressure on Ferrari & McLaren-Mercedes this year.  Robert and Nick did a great job last year.  I hope they Robert can make it to 1 or 2 in the drivers standing this year.  I feel it is his year to set the season on fire.  Plus wouldn’t it be just a riot if BMW Sauber pushed out Ferrari or McLaren for either the constructor 1 / 2 spot.

Tick Tick… 22, 21, 20….

Well the 2008 season started off with tons of excitement. Talk about a race of not many making it to the end. Six to finish out of the 22 that started. Crazy.

From the grid launch collisions in the back of the pack, but it was for the most part all Lewis show up front. Kimi was going to show us how strong Ferrari with moving up from 15th to 8th. It was awesome to see Nico get third place. Boy, Sébastien Bourdais was so, so close until the left bank on the engine let go on lap 55… Still got his 2 points, just a shame since I think he would of ended up higher.

Ferrari was not the engine of the day for sure. Out of the six cars that had Ferrari power, all of them failed to finish.

The one I was really hoping for was Sebastian Vettel, I think he has great promise this year. Too bad he was down from the get go. Still just an awesome race IMO. It was really fun to watch, might of been the off season feeling too long. But honestly it was just great race to watch. Lewis should his normal cool form. McLaren-Mercedes was just really strong.

So the three I watch this season are:

  • Lewis (no question, he should be ready for 17 more great races)
  • Vettel
  • Bourdais

All I know, is oh good times… good times… F1 2008 season is now here!

Let the Australian Grand Prix, Practice begin.  No traction control this year… should see lots of sliding or fishing this year. :)

Wonder how much the change in the traction control will have impact on the 08 season.
