Okay, so Lewis and Alonso get pole. No shock there.
Hey can we make a mention of Sebastian Vettel becoming the youngest driver to score points in an F1 Grand Prix. Not bad for a 19 year old alternative driver. That was great IMO.
I have to be honest, I am not a real Ralf fan, and his “great skills” shined through when he took turn one and took Coulthard out. Just so wrong for someone that gets paid what? Not to mention a 19 year alt got points and you didn’t Ralf? Ya I would want to pay you .22 millions, let alone 22 mill! Sure no Michael Schumacher. That must suck. What, no win since 2003? I think he should be paying Toyota these days. t seems there were some coat tails being stepped on somewhere.
Lewis wins #2, great for the Brit and he continues to ride this wave he has made. Is he another Schumacher in the making (not a Ralf either) or is this just “luck”?

Wow, is it possible for Fernando Alonso might actually show his world champ skills this weekend at Indy? Could it happen?
BMW Saubers Robert Kubica (thankfully will make a full recovery, even if he is not in the Indy race this weekend) stand-in, Sebastian Vettel took it to McLaren! Splitting McLarens best times of Fernando and Lewis Hamilton to be in the No. 2 spot during Saturday practice. Only practice, but still. Great job! Amazing for a whopping 19 year old. Defiantly a young young face in F1.
How about the 20 – 22 seconds of full out throttle on the straight stretch? Dang, Indy is not listed as the single F1 circuit for longest full throttle for nothing, with top speeds reaching in the 330kmh range for practice. Wait until Sunday… 19k revs of an F1 engine, the only thing better than good ole muscle car rumble IMO!
This should be a great race on Sunday.
Fernando was screaming on a dirty track… almost breaking track records on just a practice day. Hmm, and I thought Fernando didn’t like Indy.

Well the most horrific part of the Canadian F1 race was Kuicas crash. Dang… and he was not seriously hurt, F1 does do a good job on car safety!
After Kubica hit the back of Jarno Trulli’s Toyota on the approach to the hairpin, forced Kubica into the grass on the hairpin inner, the ground bump sent his car into the concrete wall (where are the tire stacks!?). The front of the car shatters (as it should). The BMWer flips (what seems forever) across the track and finally start on the otter edge of the hairpin.
They had reported he had a busted leg, but in reality he had a sprained ankle and concussion. Thank goodness. A great driver “walks” away safely more or less.
Now on to the winner!!!! Lewis and his first F1 Grand Prix win! We knew it was only a matter of time. Hey were was Alonso? Oh 7th. Well that sure wasn’t like Monaco now was it.
The one I really liked, was Takuma Sato. 6th place and 3 points. Super Aguri-Honda is making great strides at each race. Especially for such a small budget and small team. You know it has to tick off Toyota and Alonso! Go Sato. Plus he just has such a great vibe about him.
Lastly, since I talked about the groundhog during practice, I have to mention that Super Aguri that hit a poor little guy. Causing a unscheduled pit to get a little fur out of the car.
It is all laughs and grins until someone gets hurt, right moms!

McLaren is out in front at the moment, but it is only Friday practice. I would think we will see more from Felipe Massa and Ferrari this weekend since the Ferrari should love the Canadian track a little better than McLaren. Also this will be the first time Lewis Hamilton has driven this track, but he was right up there with Fernando and Felipe in the 3rd slot.
It was just awesome to see Fernando sliding the McLaren around the curves with the fishtails. I can only imagine what it will be like on Sunday.
Can we say it will be a weekend of if you can keep the back of the car out of the walls and BRAKES.
How about the groundhog running across the track right in front of Ralf Schumacher during the 2nd round of practice coming down the straight stretch. That looked like one scared little critter for sure when he was about an inch from the sidewall! You see him trucking along, accordion up and then smoke it off the track. That was one lucky groundhog. He could of been bits in the radiator or a thump under the right rear tire of Ralfs.

Well I am sure the McLaren team feels relief since they felt like they had done nothing wrong. Well at least now the FIA agrees. I don’t know how Lewis Hamilton must feel having to basically know he was going to come in 2nd if McLaren stayed at the front of the pack. It must be how Massa must of felt last year when he had to step back behind Michael and let him take the rightful front spot.
Apparently a healthy 60% of the formula1.com visitors agree that FIA was correct in their ruling. But there are the other 30% now isn’t there.
I wonder how many “bets” came true on Sunday that McLaren would take one/two spot with it being Fernando Alonso and then Lewis Hamiton. A lot of money could be had if you were to bet on the outcome of an event like that wouldn’t you think? Especially in Monaco of all places.

Well lets start this one off with McLarens investigation. Oh oh…. Who should of been #1?
Fernando Alonsos win over Lewis Hamilton OR should it of been, Hamilton win over Alonso?
I hear the FIA march now. Oooops. Nothing new in F1 though. This kind of thing is always the case between team members. How many times do you think Massa stepped aside so that Michael would always be #1 last year? Not that Michael wasn’t a great driver (heck one of the best IMHO), but there is way team members can help each other out for the win! Right.
I mean it was a clearing house for McLaren-Mercedes this weekend in the lovely streets with what almost an entire 1 minute over Massa and everyone else was a lap down! DANG
I knew Hamilton was going to be great at Monaco… but… and the for Alonso to win (especially when he has said he dislikes the Monaco track so much).
Did anyone see the practices on Friday (really Thur) & Saturday? Dang was Lewis sticking it to the road or what… until he speared the car into the pile of tires… ooops
That boy can drive.. Alonso was hot on his heals, but still Lewis had this course in his hands… I don’t see why/how Fernando should of been 1st?!
