Will the 2007 season is over. Damn
Ok, well this was an odd season. Kimi Räikkönen is the season winner taking it from Lewis. Lewis lost it back in Japan if you recall and that is where his winning trend took a tyre tread down turn!
Only 144 more days to the 2008 season! Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne all begins March 14 – 16. Looking forward to a season of more change. Watch the youngster make even more impact IMHO. Bye bye Ralf.

So Hamilton gets pole at home! But I have to admit that qualifying was rather boring and I expected Hamilton to be pushing more in qualifying. At least Kimi brought Ferrari to the front row. I expected it to be nothing but McLaren in the front row. I wonder if the home town was too much for Hamilton.
Ferrari gets a bad start. So Massa stalls on the starting grid. Ooops… to pit lane for you. So that put Lewis and Kimi right on his tail from the start. I think Hamilton was maybe a little edgy being home. Only had to look at the first pit for him and he lurching with the lolly flipped and he lurched still with the fueling hose.
Scott, broken suspension this time… oh, when does it just go right for them?
So Alonso gets the extra points over Hamilton. Not to mention that Hamilton only gets 3rd at home. That must of hurt. Alonso was a little outspoken about catching up with Lewis on points from here on out. One thing to note is the Lewis has been on 9 podiums out of 9 races. That is a good trend for a noob this year huh.

So Ferrari is back with a 1-2 finish for Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa. Heck Ferrari was even putting it to McLaren in Q2. So do we think Ferrari is back to actually giving McLaren something to worry about?! Well it won’t be an issue if Fernando Alonso starts out in 10th place due to gearbox problems. Then ends up in 7th for a finish! Heck at least Lewis got 3rd for a track he disliked.
Jenson Button got Honda its first point of the year with his eighth place finish. That is great to see.
Where is Toyota and all their money getting them 10th today. Holy Cows… all those millions for Ralf got them 10th place and oh ya, no points! Hey at least it was not last place! Dang, I really need to stop watching Ralf race.
Christijan Albers had to retire because of an extra part on his car — that mystery fuel hose! Ooops. Never good huh.
Oh Scott (Speed) why oh why? Another gear box… dang. Come on Red Bull.

Wow, is it possible for Fernando Alonso might actually show his world champ skills this weekend at Indy? Could it happen?
BMW Saubers Robert Kubica (thankfully will make a full recovery, even if he is not in the Indy race this weekend) stand-in, Sebastian Vettel took it to McLaren! Splitting McLarens best times of Fernando and Lewis Hamilton to be in the No. 2 spot during Saturday practice. Only practice, but still. Great job! Amazing for a whopping 19 year old. Defiantly a young young face in F1.
How about the 20 – 22 seconds of full out throttle on the straight stretch? Dang, Indy is not listed as the single F1 circuit for longest full throttle for nothing, with top speeds reaching in the 330kmh range for practice. Wait until Sunday… 19k revs of an F1 engine, the only thing better than good ole muscle car rumble IMO!
This should be a great race on Sunday.
Fernando was screaming on a dirty track… almost breaking track records on just a practice day. Hmm, and I thought Fernando didn’t like Indy.

Well the most horrific part of the Canadian F1 race was Kuicas crash. Dang… and he was not seriously hurt, F1 does do a good job on car safety!
After Kubica hit the back of Jarno Trulli’s Toyota on the approach to the hairpin, forced Kubica into the grass on the hairpin inner, the ground bump sent his car into the concrete wall (where are the tire stacks!?). The front of the car shatters (as it should). The BMWer flips (what seems forever) across the track and finally start on the otter edge of the hairpin.
They had reported he had a busted leg, but in reality he had a sprained ankle and concussion. Thank goodness. A great driver “walks” away safely more or less.
Now on to the winner!!!! Lewis and his first F1 Grand Prix win! We knew it was only a matter of time. Hey were was Alonso? Oh 7th. Well that sure wasn’t like Monaco now was it.
The one I really liked, was Takuma Sato. 6th place and 3 points. Super Aguri-Honda is making great strides at each race. Especially for such a small budget and small team. You know it has to tick off Toyota and Alonso! Go Sato. Plus he just has such a great vibe about him.
Lastly, since I talked about the groundhog during practice, I have to mention that Super Aguri that hit a poor little guy. Causing a unscheduled pit to get a little fur out of the car.
It is all laughs and grins until someone gets hurt, right moms!

McLaren is out in front at the moment, but it is only Friday practice. I would think we will see more from Felipe Massa and Ferrari this weekend since the Ferrari should love the Canadian track a little better than McLaren. Also this will be the first time Lewis Hamilton has driven this track, but he was right up there with Fernando and Felipe in the 3rd slot.
It was just awesome to see Fernando sliding the McLaren around the curves with the fishtails. I can only imagine what it will be like on Sunday.
Can we say it will be a weekend of if you can keep the back of the car out of the walls and BRAKES.
How about the groundhog running across the track right in front of Ralf Schumacher during the 2nd round of practice coming down the straight stretch. That looked like one scared little critter for sure when he was about an inch from the sidewall! You see him trucking along, accordion up and then smoke it off the track. That was one lucky groundhog. He could of been bits in the radiator or a thump under the right rear tire of Ralfs.
