Well I am sure the McLaren team feels relief since they felt like they had done nothing wrong. Well at least now the FIA agrees. I don’t know how Lewis Hamilton must feel having to basically know he was going to come in 2nd if McLaren stayed at the front of the pack. It must be how Massa must of felt last year when he had to step back behind Michael and let him take the rightful front spot.

Apparently a healthy 60% of the formula1.com visitors agree that FIA was correct in their ruling. But there are the other 30% now isn’t there.

I wonder how many “bets” came true on Sunday that McLaren would take one/two spot with it being Fernando Alonso and then Lewis Hamiton. A lot of money could be had if you were to bet on the outcome of an event like that wouldn’t you think? Especially in Monaco of all places.

McLaren - LewisWell lets start this one off with McLarens investigation. Oh oh…. Who should of been #1?
Fernando Alonsos win over Lewis Hamilton OR should it of been, Hamilton win over Alonso?

I hear the FIA march now. Oooops. Nothing new in F1 though. This kind of thing is always the case between team members. How many times do you think Massa stepped aside so that Michael would always be #1 last year? Not that Michael wasn’t a great driver (heck one of the best IMHO), but there is way team members can help each other out for the win! Right.

I mean it was a clearing house for McLaren-Mercedes this weekend in the lovely streets with what almost an entire 1 minute over Massa and everyone else was a lap down! DANG

I knew Hamilton was going to be great at Monaco… but… and the for Alonso to win (especially when he has said he dislikes the Monaco track so much).

Did anyone see the practices on Friday (really Thur) & Saturday? Dang was Lewis sticking it to the road or what… until he speared the car into the pile of tires… ooops

That boy can drive.. Alonso was hot on his heals, but still Lewis had this course in his hands… I don’t see why/how Fernando should of been 1st?!

I didn’t get to watch the Spain race this past weekend like I had hoped.

The real news from the weekend (IMHO) was in regards to Takuma Sato and the Super Aguri team. He scored the teams first world championship point on Sunday when he placed eighth. That is pretty cool for a struggling team. I love to see the underdogs down there get there points and get to enjoy the moment. Sato definitely sounded excited from all the quotes I was reading.

All the hard work done by the boys in Leafield on limited resources, and back in Tochigi – the Honda support is enormous and the fans and sponsors. I am proud of them all.

It was another great weekend for Massa and not for Kimi. Sometimes it makes you wonder if Kimi wants to swap Felipe for his Ferrari!

You know the one guy I wish gets in the points each race is good ole Scott Speed. Not because he is from the US, but because he seems like a truly genuine racer that is just trying to get there from here in the STR-Ferrari. Just always seems to have some car issue that lets him down. This weekend being no different with tire issues.

So far it is a McLaren-Mercedes and Ferrari constructors race (no shock there) with Hamilton definitely helping out Alonso this year.

How about Kimi and Lewis at the start!? That was just great!

Hamilton just keeps bringing it to the fans (UK should be proud!).

As the F1 site so perfectly put it:

The fairytale start to Lewis Hamiltons Formula One career continued in Bahrain on Sunday. His second place made him the first driver in history to finish his first three Grands Prix on the podium. Not only that, he also took the joint lead in the drivers championship standings.

Hamilton is on a role and apparently his GP2 days have served him well.

Alonso, what the heck is going on? Someone is off his mark.

Have to give props to Massa for getting things worked out from the last race. Hamilton definitely kept him in his sites and kept Kimi from jumping past him, but Massa earned this one fair an square.

I think Monaco, not Spain should be a screamer for Lewis. He apparently loves the course there from his GP2 days. We will see if he can make the McLaren-Mercedes stick like glue!

Lewis Hamilton is proving to be a great F1 driver with only his 2nd official F1 race in the Malaysian Grand Prix Sunday.

Hamiltons’ performance in Australia 3 weekends ago was great, but Malaysian only proved the guy has great skills even more so.

Masa, what a horrible way to get started early on.

Alonso, great driving we have come to expect from the last couple years, but still not the same as last year yet. But it wasn’t until the end of last year when he really shined!

McClaren did a great job this weekend along with Ferrari as usual. You can’t ignore a Ferrari can ya? :)

Only 6 days to Bahrain! :)

This season is definitely starting out interesting even with Michael being gone. I can only imagine we will be seeing him soon in the Ferrari pits to watch Masa and Kimi.

Hamilton is of course currently the man to watch so far this year. I see great things coming from him, especially if Alonso assists and does not try to stomp.

Renault is definitely not used to Bridgestones’ tires. The aero issues without the Michelin’s anymore seems to become an issue they need to attack. They better get that shuffled around soon!
